PSMIF kicked off its CEO Speaker Series with an incredible fireside chat featuring Luke Gould, President and CEO of Mackenzie Investments. For our analysts and portfolio managers, having a conversation with the person overseeing one of Canada's largest investment management firms, right here at the Asper School of Business was an experience that doesn't come around often.

 He joined the IGM Financial group in 1997 and steadily built his career across roles in investor relations, corporate finance, and executive leadership before being appointed President and CEO of Mackenzie Investments in July 2022. Today, Mackenzie manages approximately $192 billion in assets, making it one of Canada's leading investment management firms.

The fireside chat gave PSMIF students the chance to go beyond the resume, asking Luke about portfolio management, his perspective on the Canadian equity market, leadership lessons from decades in the industry, and what he looks for in the next generation of finance professionals.
