Junior Equity Analysts

Junior Equity Analysts will be assigned a sector to cover and will directly report to the respective Portfolio Manager (PM). Junior Analysts will conduct research within their sector, perform detailed security analysis, and assist the PM by evaluating investment recommendations. Junior Analysts will also help compile information to create investment proposals and presentations. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in finance, demonstrate a proactive approach to learning, and ideally have experience with security analysis, although not required as this is an entry-level role intended to offer exposure to students early in their programs.

Requirements

Student Requirements

  1. Be a current Bachelor of Commerce student in the Asper School of Business. 

  2. Register for courses as a full time or part time student during the Fall 2025, Winter 2026, and Fall 2026 semesters.

  3. Have a minimum GPA of 3.50.

Skills Required

Experience working with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

Responsibilities

  1. Developing in-depth knowledge and understanding of their assigned sector and the companies within it. 

  2. Analyzing company financial statements, annual reports, MD&A’s, earnings conference calls, and any other relevant information.

  3. Preparing equity research reports.

  4. Assisting their team with preparing and presenting investment recommendations to the investment committee. 

  5. Staying informed on relevant macroeconomic events and sector-related news.

  6. Additional duties as they arise.
